Bipolar and Loss

Being on disability, I’ve had a good long time to process what has happened to me in the past few years, and finally some clarity has emerged. Not only am I dealing with the loss of my husband, but I still have unresolved grief for the life I had before my bipolar diagnosis. As thoseContinue reading “Bipolar and Loss”

A Little Bit of Everything

Sorry it’s been almost a month since my last blog entry, but lately several topics have crowded my brain and I can’t decide which one to write about. So I’m just going to cram all of them in this one and hopefully it’ll make sense. I think the most important thing is the subtle change inContinue reading “A Little Bit of Everything”

Taking A Dip

OK, I’ll admit it: my mood has taken a dip. The mild mixed episode I had last month has settled into a moderate depression, and now I’m utterly lacking in motivation. It’s not bad as depressions go; I’m able to enjoy things and people given the opportunity, and I can comfort myself with the fact thatContinue reading “Taking A Dip”

Out Of Sorts

I’m feeling decidedly off-kilter these days, so please forgive me if this post reflects that. But I have stories to tell, and I hope you’ll read them. I’m still having troubleContinue reading “Out Of Sorts”

Not that the flip of a calendar page will make everything OK again…but it sure makes one feel like it will,Continue reading “2016: Good-bye And Good Riddance”

The Twelve Days of Bipolar

One of my favorite things to do is make up new lyrics to old familiar songs. Especially Christmas music. Sometimes I’m wildly creative, sometimes not, but I always seem to come up with something fun. Here for your enjoyment (I hope) is this year’s version of the Twelve Days of Christmas. On the 12th day of Christmas, bipolarContinue reading “The Twelve Days of Bipolar”

Trick Or Treat

I miss Halloween. It used to mean dressing up in my pirate costume and taking the kids/grandkids trick-or-treating through dark streets, where ghosts and kittycats and superheroes gathered at houses with decorations that lit up the night. I loved the mingled aromas from chimney smoke and the leaves that crunched delightfully underfoot. I also enjoyed the occasional candy bar from people whoContinue reading “Trick Or Treat”
