Dude, You’re Getting A Dell!

May 8, 2015

Actually, I’m not a dude, and I already bought my Dell. Yesterday. At Costco. Now I can type my blog posts once, not twice as I did when I had no Internet access on my old computer—I was having to compose the posts in Documents and then type them into my phone. As you can imagine, that was quite a process, and more than once I nearly gave up because it was such a gold-plated pain in the ass.

But sweet are the uses of a little extra money, and thankfully I got five months’ worth of Social Security payments all at once so I had the cash to buy a new computer. It’s my very first laptop and I’m thrilled with it—it’s got all the bells and whistles I could have asked for and more besides. It’s not top of the line but I don’t need that; I just wanted a more portable computer that didn’t take up the entire desk when I set it down AND worked with my landlady’s wireless service. Which it does beautifully.

So if you don’t mind, I think I’m going to learn a little more about this marvelous piece of technology before I get back to posting my usual wit and wisdom. I’ve got a few bugs to work out in the user . See you soon!

It will be such a joy reading your blog posts more often! so happy for you!

so hey, I am looking for a lower end laptop that will work with wireless, you think that is a good way to go?

What kind of jack is there for the power? The Dell I had before became unusable when the jack hole (no comments! don’t know what else to call it! haha) inside the computer loosened up 😦 Hopefully they fixed that. If not you need to be extra sure you back up whatever you would like to save.

I like it. It was $600 at Costco, but I also bought an extended warranty that covers any and all damages for three years. Even drops and spills. I highly recommend the extra protection….. I had one on my car and paid all of $75 for a new engine when the original died. 🙂

Oh gosh good for you. I work on an old PC that my mother paid $300 for. The space button sticks. Sigh. Maybe birthday or Christmas.

Great! I bet you’ll love it, I got a Dell laptop a few months ago when I got a student loan, it’s been a great computer so far.

Yay! Since you are a blogger, a laptop is a necessity. Typing on a phone with thumbs – what a nightmare!

It was, too, especially since my vision is going and my fingers like to cramp while I’m typing on my phone. Glad I don’t have to do it anymore 🙂
